Covpress strengthened its environmental credentials yet further recently when its ingenuity proved a vital component in a groundbreaking project working in conjunction with Landis+Gyr, the world's leading electricity metering and smart meter solutions provider and the pioneer of worldwide smart grid realization, in the design and manufacture of the latest generation of "SMART" gas meters to reduce domestic CO2 emissions in the UK, which currently account for a remarkable 25% of all such UK emissions.
As a key supplier, Covpress is supporting Landis+Gyr and its customers with the implementation of the UK's first commercial-scale "SMART" meter deployment, enabling consumers for the very first time to independently monitor and manage domestic energy consumption, drastically reduce energy bills and protect the environment.
The target is ambitious but achievable: to save consumers over £20 million on their energy bills by 2020.
